Chef – Care Home

£25,000 per year | 35 hours per week

 

Our client, a beautifully designed, purpose-built care home for older adults, is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join their warm and welcoming team. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your culinary skills into a setting where every meal truly matters.

As the Chef, you'll play a vital role in enriching daily life for older adults through thoughtful, well-prepared meals.

 

The Chef will be responsible for preparing a variety of delicious and well-balanced meals that support residents’ health, enjoyment, and specific dietary requirements. Working closely with care and kitchen staff, you’ll ensure each meal is safe, appetising, and served with care—making mealtimes a highlight of the day.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Previous experience as a Chef in a care home or healthcare setting

  • A strong understanding of dietary needs, food textures, and allergens

  • A current Food Hygiene Certificate

  • A passion for food and a genuine interest in enhancing residents’ wellbeing

  • Excellent time management, organisation, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and food textures (including pureed, soft diets, etc.)

  • Ensure food hygiene and kitchen safety standards are consistently upheld

  • Maintain accurate food safety records, including temperature checks and cleaning logs

  • Work closely with the care team to accommodate specialist diets, allergies, and preferences

  • Manage stock levels and kitchen supplies efficiently

  • Create a welcoming dining experience that respects the dignity and preferences of residents
