Sous Chef – Luxury Care Home | £28,000 | 40 Hours per Week

The successful Sous Chef will play a key role in delivering nutritious, well-presented meals that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary requirements, including allergens, modified textures, and specialist diets. Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, the Sous Chef will help to ensure meals are of consistently high quality, compliant with healthcare standards, and genuinely enjoyed by residents.

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef within a healthcare or care home setting is essential
- Excellent knowledge of allergen management, dietary requirements, and food texture modifications
- A passion for delivering exceptional food that supports dignity, nutrition, and enjoyment
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- A relevant food hygiene qualification (Level 2 minimum)
- Warm, collaborative approach and a genuine interest in care-focused hospitality

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals in line with residents’ individual dietary needs, including allergies and specialist diets
- Support the Head Chef with menu planning, food safety compliance, and stock management
- Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence
- Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Create a positive dining experience that supports the health and wellbeing of all residents
- Build positive relationships with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
